MEET THE TEAM
Nancy Pottish
Nancy moved to Rhode Island from Utah in 2008 with her husband Peter after successfully starting, running, and selling their engineering business.
Nancy has been a lifelong animal lover and animal rescuer. She is currently affiliated with PawsWatch where she has helped rescue and re-home hundreds of stray cats.
Nancy purchased Morning Star Horse Farm in 2012 when she noticed a "For Sale" sign as she drove past and felt compelled to stop by. Nancy has three horses of her own and enjoys trail riding, English, and Western.
Cara McSoley
Cara is the manager and head trainer at Morning Star Horse Farm and the owner of McSoley Equestrian. Cara has been riding since she was five and began competing at the age of eight. She participated in 4H growing up and competed on the AQHA circuit in English and Western.
Cara attended Roger Williams University where she competed in IHSA all four years, captaining the team her senior year. In 2012, Cara began apprenticing in hunter jumper and dressage and has since coached IEA, managed barns throughout Rhode Island, and grown a passion for building horse and human relationships in multiple disciplines.
Cara has an eye for determining what you and your horse need and will help you gain the tools to reach your goals. She is a Massachusetts licensed instructor.
Lexi Stone
Lexi is the assistant manager and an instructor at Morning Star Horse Farm and has been riding most of her life.
Lexi got her start in eventing and attending GMHA camp as a kid. She is both an animal person and people person, providing great care to our horses and helping everyone feel a welcome part of our community.
Lexi possesses extensive experience in all realms of horse care and competes locally in the jumpers with her horse, Pacino.
